The responsibility of your guests is placed upon the host's shoulders. When hosting a party, people tend to forget that it is their responsibility to make sure that each guest is safe while attending the party and also makes it home safely.
Controlling the consumption of alcohol by your guests is difficult, although there are a couple of ways to help manage the atmosphere of your party. First, do not throw a party just to get drunk.! Several designated drivers could be available to eliminate the worry of drinking and driving, and keys could be collected at the beginning of the party. Also, drinks made in bulk recipes help control the amount of alcohol being served in each drink. There is no way to eliminate the possibility of a guest drinking too much, and then causing a scene and/or driving. But, it is your responsibility to minimize the potential of a guest losing control.
It is very important to keep alcohol under lock and key, or constant supervision, if children are present. Children are curious and want to experiment with alcohol. A party can quickly be ruined by a drunken child, and creates potential danger.
